A day in the office

It's been months since I set up my little home office and this weekend I got to spend some glorious 'me time' faffing about; organising, filing, sorting, making it just the way I want it. And I did my first ever traditional, paper, cut&stick scrapbook layout. Naturally, it features my little man. Who else??

I am pretty happy with my first attempt. I think I still prefer the digital method, but it's nice to try something different and I will definately do more.

I also recently had some of my digital layouts printed up and put in an album - naturally, they are all about 'the boy' - and I got a chance to show it off to the grandparents over the weekend. Its nice to get them out of the computer and into an album....they are real, tangible, and I am really happy with them.

I am taking part in some Point+Shoot fun over at Fat Mum Slim...pop on over and have a look! Chantelle has created a lovely little spot in blog world. And I suspect her star is rising, its wonderful to watch all the goodness unfold for her....you go girl.

Just because

Here is a little bit of something that I do when I have a spare moment and a whole lot of inspiration....which actually isn't very often.

I can't even remember how I stumbled across it, but 'it' has a name...digital scrapbooking. Basically....its scrapbooking (I am sure you figured that out all on your own, you clever thing!) but not the traditional paper style, with scissors and glue and tape and a whole heap of mistakes. This digital form suits me much better, coz I have my big fat 'undo' button! Very important for one such as myself.

I have every intention of printing these when I create them, but have only ever printed one. So they just sit on my computer, doing nothing. Might as well share them here, huh?

And naturally, they are all of my main man, my little squirt, my cheeky monkey....my love and joy and reason for being! And I wouldn't have it any other way!

Christmas '09

So it was christmas time. My little man had just received every thomas train he could possibly ask for, a sand pit, a new bike, a slippery slide....the list is endless. But we were at nana and poppy's place, and his favourite toy was already there, the whole time...it has been for years! And it is so obviously a favourite pick for any boy who likes dirt and worms and mud and cars...

The lid of their septic tank!!

We couldn't get him off it. The sun would beat down on it every day, and it is black...pitch black. Just about the hottest surface you can imagine. But it was, apparently, the only place to be seen. The coolest pad in town. And the best place to play with our very first ever matchbox fire engine.

And this is now one of my all time favourite photos. It is technically flawed, but it sits on my bedside table and brings me so much joy to see it first thing in the morning, and last thing at night.

And while I am in a sharing mood, here are some more from christmas. The light was fantastic...some of the time. The grass was a great length for taking the kind of shots that keep me awake at night. The mood was right. But the march flies were atrocious. You could saddle these things and ride off into the sunset...if you were that way inclined.
