Pets at I Heart Faces

My first entry in an I Heart Faces weekly challenge! And I couldn't resist....this week its Pets.

Meet Coco...a brumby filly from the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales. She is a project of Nana and Poppies, who hope to break her in for the little boy to ride.

She is sweet. She is brave. She is bold. She is as wild as the winter wind.

And she is absolutely BEAUTIFUL.

Processed with the Urban action from CoffeeShop...one of my all time favourites!

Remembering Summer

To say 'fare-thee-well' to my best friend Summer and its balmy evenings, I thought I would share some photos taken on one of the very hot days we had this year.

A trip to Ikea for a spot of shopping (for mummys benefit) turned into a trip to Bicentennial Park for a play in the park (for the boys benefit). It was sooo much fun. We all ended up splashing about in the fountain, and he pulled his beloved bike in for a bit of a ride around in the water.

And boy oh boy didn't the little fella crash out on the way home!

If only he could remember all these days, these Dream Days!

Lioney

Have I ever told you how much I love my little man?
No?
Well let me tell you....I LUFF HIM VERY MUCH! In a way I never thought possible. It's like I have never really known love till now. It's like a whole big piece of me was missing, until he came along.
I love his giggle.
I love his smile.
I love his slobbery kisses.
I love the way he hugs me.
I love the way he wraps his arms around my neck at bedtime.
I love the way he says "bedrum".
I love it when he tells me funny stories.
I love the way his face lights up when I pick him up after work, or come home after work.
I love every teeny tiny smooth-skinned little inch of perfection that he is!
And he loves his "lioney" more than all of that!

Don't just like

I saw an ad for Blackberry the other week that really struck a high note for me, and has been with me ever since. For me it is inspiring, it is passionate, and it strikes at the heart of everything that I am thinking about lately. I have to share it....

Don't just like.
Like is watered-down love.
Like is mediocre.
Like is the wishy-washy emotion of the content.
Atheletes don't do it for the like of a sport.
Artsists don't suffer for the like of art.
There is no I Like N.Y t-shirt.
And Romeo didn't just like Juliet.
LOVE. Now that's powerful stuff.
Love changes things.
Upsets things.
Conquers things.
Love is at the root of everything good that ever happened
and will ever happen.
Love what you do.
And while on the subject of LOVE...

Christmas '09

So it was christmas time. My little man had just received every thomas train he could possibly ask for, a sand pit, a new bike, a slippery slide....the list is endless. But we were at nana and poppy's place, and his favourite toy was already there, the whole time...it has been for years! And it is so obviously a favourite pick for any boy who likes dirt and worms and mud and cars...

The lid of their septic tank!!

We couldn't get him off it. The sun would beat down on it every day, and it is black...pitch black. Just about the hottest surface you can imagine. But it was, apparently, the only place to be seen. The coolest pad in town. And the best place to play with our very first ever matchbox fire engine.

And this is now one of my all time favourite photos. It is technically flawed, but it sits on my bedside table and brings me so much joy to see it first thing in the morning, and last thing at night.

And while I am in a sharing mood, here are some more from christmas. The light was fantastic...some of the time. The grass was a great length for taking the kind of shots that keep me awake at night. The mood was right. But the march flies were atrocious. You could saddle these things and ride off into the sunset...if you were that way inclined.
