Point+Shoot....+Click

Good morning!!!

I haven't blogged anything for SUCH a long time. Life has been crazy busy the last few weeks and has left very little time for playing on my computer or pulling out my camera.

There were hospital visits to make, family to look after, friends to socialise with....and a new business in the making. But that is top secret for the time being...don't want any bad joo-joo!!

I did however squeeze in a fantastic photo shoot last weekend which I only managed to post-process properly this weekend...so if its alright with you I will include these in Point+Shoot coz technically I didn't finish them till this weekend (hence where the +Click comes in). And I haven't taken part in Point+Shoot for SUCH a long time, or any blog world activities, and I am really starting to miss all that interaction it offers. If you are asking yourself just what on earth Point+Shoot is, head on over to Fat Mum Slim for a looksee...its plenty of fun!

So, without further a do, I introduce the beautiful Jenny and her beau Shane. Thanks for being such a good sport Shane, you were open to all of our ideas and without a whinge to be heard. And sorry for picking on your girly pink belt. But seriously...pink? It clashes with your hairy chest and your tattoo!

Pets at I Heart Faces

My first entry in an I Heart Faces weekly challenge! And I couldn't resist....this week its Pets.

Meet Coco...a brumby filly from the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales. She is a project of Nana and Poppies, who hope to break her in for the little boy to ride.

She is sweet. She is brave. She is bold. She is as wild as the winter wind.

And she is absolutely BEAUTIFUL.

Processed with the Urban action from CoffeeShop...one of my all time favourites!

Dreamy Saturday

This weekend was, in a word, spectacular!!

And Saturday, in particular. My beautiful girlfriend and I took our two little bunnies down to a local beach bright and early in the morning (out the door by 7.30, no saturday sleep-in for us!). There was hardly a soul to be seen. The air was crisp, the sun was warm, the day was young.
It was one of those mornings that makes me just stop for a second and think about how lucky I am.

And after all that fun in the sun, we headed to a cafe for some take away coffees, and a huge biscuit with 'lollies on it' for the boys to share (um ah!). Then a play in the park, and off to a garage sale. All before lunch!

What more could you ask for?
And naturally, I had my camera with me. We had lost our mojo lately, me and my camera, so I put it down for a bit, and this weekend we fell in love with each other all over again. So I am heading over to fat mum slim to take part in the Point+Shoot fun! Go and check it out, Chantelle is a ray of sunshine to warm up your day.

Oh for the love of Lola!

See these photos? I am blogging about these photos for two reasons today.
Firstly....last week I tried to find them and I couldn't. I can't tell you how upset I was. I had looked in all our back-ups, both the computers, and I just couldn't see them. My little heart was broken because these are, without a doubt, some of my most favouritest mostest special photos of my baby boy that I own. And to think that I had somehow lost them....I was devasted.
But I was sitting at my mums computer last night, and lookee what I find! I screamed when I saw them....I have them back! Never to be lost again. I can't tell you how relieved I am. Photos of your children, especially when they are your most favourist mostest special photos, are so precious!
Secondly {and this is super exciting!!}....the girls over at Beyond Snapshots reviewed what are, hands down, the worlds sexiest looking camera bags, from Epiphanie. They are giving one away, and oh be still my beating heart its the red one they chose to bestow on some lucky devil. Boy oh boy do I want to be that lucky devil!!
What we had to do was show off a photo with a red theme...and when I found these photos last night, well....here they are. How could I not use these ones?
And let me tell you this....not only do Epiphanie have the sexiest camera bags ever (I mean, they have the red Lola, the chocolate brown Ginger....just the names of these bags are cool!) but they have the most awesome website ever. I love websites that think outside the square; that have warmth and texture and funky bits and a real vibe. You should head over and check it out, seriously, its worth a look. And while you are surfing the net, for all my clickin' friends you might already know about Beyond Snapshots, but if you haven't discovered yet, get there...now! Rachel and Peta are amazing!

Remembering Summer

To say 'fare-thee-well' to my best friend Summer and its balmy evenings, I thought I would share some photos taken on one of the very hot days we had this year.

A trip to Ikea for a spot of shopping (for mummys benefit) turned into a trip to Bicentennial Park for a play in the park (for the boys benefit). It was sooo much fun. We all ended up splashing about in the fountain, and he pulled his beloved bike in for a bit of a ride around in the water.

And boy oh boy didn't the little fella crash out on the way home!

If only he could remember all these days, these Dream Days!

Lioney

Have I ever told you how much I love my little man?
No?
Well let me tell you....I LUFF HIM VERY MUCH! In a way I never thought possible. It's like I have never really known love till now. It's like a whole big piece of me was missing, until he came along.
I love his giggle.
I love his smile.
I love his slobbery kisses.
I love the way he hugs me.
I love the way he wraps his arms around my neck at bedtime.
I love the way he says "bedrum".
I love it when he tells me funny stories.
I love the way his face lights up when I pick him up after work, or come home after work.
I love every teeny tiny smooth-skinned little inch of perfection that he is!
And he loves his "lioney" more than all of that!

Point+Shoot

I finally found a few minutes in my week to get the very awesome Hipstamatic on my iphone, and on the weekend I took it for a play at the pool, and also found a few minutes of pure point+shoot happiness! Pop along and check out fatmumslim to see what on earth I am talking about....its a bit of photographic fun with the lovely Chantelle, just for the love of it!!
This weekend the weather was amazing. A touch hot at times, but with the wonderful pool just up the street for all the locals to splash around in, the heat wasn't much of a problem. And yesterday, the ultimate dream day....a swim, a milkshake, and for dinner....some prawns and white wine in the park with friends. I love dream days!

Don't just like

I saw an ad for Blackberry the other week that really struck a high note for me, and has been with me ever since. For me it is inspiring, it is passionate, and it strikes at the heart of everything that I am thinking about lately. I have to share it....

Don't just like.
Like is watered-down love.
Like is mediocre.
Like is the wishy-washy emotion of the content.
Atheletes don't do it for the like of a sport.
Artsists don't suffer for the like of art.
There is no I Like N.Y t-shirt.
And Romeo didn't just like Juliet.
LOVE. Now that's powerful stuff.
Love changes things.
Upsets things.
Conquers things.
Love is at the root of everything good that ever happened
and will ever happen.
Love what you do.
And while on the subject of LOVE...

Christmas '09

So it was christmas time. My little man had just received every thomas train he could possibly ask for, a sand pit, a new bike, a slippery slide....the list is endless. But we were at nana and poppy's place, and his favourite toy was already there, the whole time...it has been for years! And it is so obviously a favourite pick for any boy who likes dirt and worms and mud and cars...

The lid of their septic tank!!

We couldn't get him off it. The sun would beat down on it every day, and it is black...pitch black. Just about the hottest surface you can imagine. But it was, apparently, the only place to be seen. The coolest pad in town. And the best place to play with our very first ever matchbox fire engine.

And this is now one of my all time favourite photos. It is technically flawed, but it sits on my bedside table and brings me so much joy to see it first thing in the morning, and last thing at night.

And while I am in a sharing mood, here are some more from christmas. The light was fantastic...some of the time. The grass was a great length for taking the kind of shots that keep me awake at night. The mood was right. But the march flies were atrocious. You could saddle these things and ride off into the sunset...if you were that way inclined.

Beginnings

Been meaning to do this for such a long time. And have just spent hours making it look all pretty, kinda figure I should probably post something too.

My beautiful friend Mim. So loving, trusting, generous, good-natured, good-humoured, tolerant and inspiring....my first post is for you because you are so patient and encouraging with me and my camera.

This shoot was so much fun! And I loved the way the flowers from the jacaranda tree matched your top.
