A day in the office

It's been months since I set up my little home office and this weekend I got to spend some glorious 'me time' faffing about; organising, filing, sorting, making it just the way I want it. And I did my first ever traditional, paper, cut&stick scrapbook layout. Naturally, it features my little man. Who else??

I am pretty happy with my first attempt. I think I still prefer the digital method, but it's nice to try something different and I will definately do more.

I also recently had some of my digital layouts printed up and put in an album - naturally, they are all about 'the boy' - and I got a chance to show it off to the grandparents over the weekend. Its nice to get them out of the computer and into an album....they are real, tangible, and I am really happy with them.

I am taking part in some Point+Shoot fun over at Fat Mum Slim...pop on over and have a look! Chantelle has created a lovely little spot in blog world. And I suspect her star is rising, its wonderful to watch all the goodness unfold for her....you go girl.

Point+Shoot....+Click

Good morning!!!

I haven't blogged anything for SUCH a long time. Life has been crazy busy the last few weeks and has left very little time for playing on my computer or pulling out my camera.

There were hospital visits to make, family to look after, friends to socialise with....and a new business in the making. But that is top secret for the time being...don't want any bad joo-joo!!

I did however squeeze in a fantastic photo shoot last weekend which I only managed to post-process properly this weekend...so if its alright with you I will include these in Point+Shoot coz technically I didn't finish them till this weekend (hence where the +Click comes in). And I haven't taken part in Point+Shoot for SUCH a long time, or any blog world activities, and I am really starting to miss all that interaction it offers. If you are asking yourself just what on earth Point+Shoot is, head on over to Fat Mum Slim for a looksee...its plenty of fun!

So, without further a do, I introduce the beautiful Jenny and her beau Shane. Thanks for being such a good sport Shane, you were open to all of our ideas and without a whinge to be heard. And sorry for picking on your girly pink belt. But seriously...pink? It clashes with your hairy chest and your tattoo!

Pets at I Heart Faces

My first entry in an I Heart Faces weekly challenge! And I couldn't resist....this week its Pets.

Meet Coco...a brumby filly from the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales. She is a project of Nana and Poppies, who hope to break her in for the little boy to ride.

She is sweet. She is brave. She is bold. She is as wild as the winter wind.

And she is absolutely BEAUTIFUL.

Point and Shoot

Kicked off my weekend with a freshly brewed coffee for brekky and what was supposed to be a quick trip to a local garage sale.

An hour and a half later I finally made it home with a whole stack of goodies, my favourite of which is this.....

There is something about this treasure that really appeals to me. I wonder whose photos have been in here in the past? Where are those people now? And where has this come from, this funny little box. Well, actually...its quite a big box. And the wine lover in me is reminded of old crates of french wine for some reason? But maybe that is just my imagination running away with me ;)

And today bought an extra special, early birthday surprise....a new laptop!! So excited. If only it were arriving for my birthday tomorrow. Instead I will wait, not-so-patiently!

Bush walking and puddle jumping

The weather broke today, and out came the sun! After weeks of being sick constantly, and with the weather getting colder and a bit wet of late, I jumped at the chance to grab the camera and take the boy out for a bush walk and some puddle jumping! Haven't played with the camera since Easter, which is when all the nasty germs hit this household, so it was good to have it back in my hands and a willing model to humour me.

He wasn't so much into the puddle jumping though, unlike in the past. He wanted to puddle 'walk'; and told me off for jumping when I tried to encourage him. He said it was 'too disturbing'. Funny bugger!

Was a good time though, and I can feel my mojo coming back (of the photographic variety, don't get any funny ideas!) and I have a few photo shoots coming up shortly that I am really looking forward to getting stuck right into.

Happy Birthday to you!

Happy 3rd Birthday my baby boy. I can't believe how quickly you have gone from this...

...to this....
The time has gone by much too quickly for my liking, but it has been a blast the whole way. You are growing into a very independent, caring, intelligent and amazing little man who makes us so proud, and brings us so much joy, love and laughter every day. We are so lucky to have you in our lives.
Love you very much.

Just because

Here is a little bit of something that I do when I have a spare moment and a whole lot of inspiration....which actually isn't very often.

I can't even remember how I stumbled across it, but 'it' has a name...digital scrapbooking. Basically....its scrapbooking (I am sure you figured that out all on your own, you clever thing!) but not the traditional paper style, with scissors and glue and tape and a whole heap of mistakes. This digital form suits me much better, coz I have my big fat 'undo' button! Very important for one such as myself.

I have every intention of printing these when I create them, but have only ever printed one. So they just sit on my computer, doing nothing. Might as well share them here, huh?

And naturally, they are all of my main man, my little squirt, my cheeky monkey....my love and joy and reason for being! And I wouldn't have it any other way!
