Remembering Summer

To say 'fare-thee-well' to my best friend Summer and its balmy evenings, I thought I would share some photos taken on one of the very hot days we had this year.

A trip to Ikea for a spot of shopping (for mummys benefit) turned into a trip to Bicentennial Park for a play in the park (for the boys benefit). It was sooo much fun. We all ended up splashing about in the fountain, and he pulled his beloved bike in for a bit of a ride around in the water.

And boy oh boy didn't the little fella crash out on the way home!

If only he could remember all these days, these Dream Days!

Can't talk....eating!

Lookee here....my first creme egg in years!
One of my lovely friends is responsible for the few hundred (or thousand?) calories I scoffed, as evidenced above! But I wont hold it against her.
It is, after all, the start of one of my favourite times of the year...EASTER! When you get to eat chocolate first thing in the morning and nobody looks at you like you have grown two heads and just eaten your oldest sibling. And it also marks a change in the season, when the nights start to feel that little bit cooler, and when the leaves down 'home' start to turn yellow and golden and delicious looking!
But lets not get too far off the subject....which is, of course, chocolate! The best bit about this time of year, for me, is AFTER the long weekend when all of a sudden the shops find themselves still packed to the rafters with all sorts of chocolate products that they sell off at half price. Oh be still my beating heart, a Lindt bunny for under $5, what more could a girl ask for?
But now, back to the egg. I will save you some....

Oh, would you look at that, someone seems to have eaten the whole thing. Well....wonder who that might have been?

Lioney

Have I ever told you how much I love my little man?
No?
Well let me tell you....I LUFF HIM VERY MUCH! In a way I never thought possible. It's like I have never really known love till now. It's like a whole big piece of me was missing, until he came along.
I love his giggle.
I love his smile.
I love his slobbery kisses.
I love the way he hugs me.
I love the way he wraps his arms around my neck at bedtime.
I love the way he says "bedrum".
I love it when he tells me funny stories.
I love the way his face lights up when I pick him up after work, or come home after work.
I love every teeny tiny smooth-skinned little inch of perfection that he is!
And he loves his "lioney" more than all of that!

Point+Shoot

I finally found a few minutes in my week to get the very awesome Hipstamatic on my iphone, and on the weekend I took it for a play at the pool, and also found a few minutes of pure point+shoot happiness! Pop along and check out fatmumslim to see what on earth I am talking about....its a bit of photographic fun with the lovely Chantelle, just for the love of it!!
This weekend the weather was amazing. A touch hot at times, but with the wonderful pool just up the street for all the locals to splash around in, the heat wasn't much of a problem. And yesterday, the ultimate dream day....a swim, a milkshake, and for dinner....some prawns and white wine in the park with friends. I love dream days!

Don't just like

I saw an ad for Blackberry the other week that really struck a high note for me, and has been with me ever since. For me it is inspiring, it is passionate, and it strikes at the heart of everything that I am thinking about lately. I have to share it....

Don't just like.
Like is watered-down love.
Like is mediocre.
Like is the wishy-washy emotion of the content.
Atheletes don't do it for the like of a sport.
Artsists don't suffer for the like of art.
There is no I Like N.Y t-shirt.
And Romeo didn't just like Juliet.
LOVE. Now that's powerful stuff.
Love changes things.
Upsets things.
Conquers things.
Love is at the root of everything good that ever happened
and will ever happen.
Love what you do.
And while on the subject of LOVE...
